Monopoly House

Congratulations go out to my mom who just passed her exam for real estate this morning. She can now sell houses legally in the state of NJ. Wee. Now she just has to find people to sell houses to and things will be looking up for her.

I’d like to point you over to the sidebar to bring some changes to your attention.

You’ll notice the new "Aural Pleasure" section. This displays the latest song that iTunes has played on my machine. Now I don’t have to keep updating the music link like I did under "Currently." Speaking of, you will notice "Currently" is gone. Wasn’t of much use in the end and I needed the room for other things.

The "Quicklinks" section is a new addition too. Keep an eye on that area; its where I will post cool things I find on the web, but don’t feel that I should dedicate a whole entry to.

I changed the old "Also See" section around to "Daily Diversions" - mainly adding many of the sites I read on a regular basis. Check em out.

I went up to University Park this week for a job fair. Got up there on Tuesday and hung out with Maura and Katie for a good part of the day. I stayed with Erik so I had to carry my G5 to his place (which happened to be all the way on the other side of campus). That was not fun.

Wednesday I mainly coded. Yes, somehow this happens even though I was 200 miles from home. It never stops. I went to lunch with Ken and to dinner with Michelle and Erik at Outback. Ended up leaving my left-overs at Erik’s place, d’oh. Well, free food for him. Got some Super-Smash and some UT on that night too.

Thursday was the job fair that turned out to be a large waste of time. Most of the companies there were looking for some form of engineer (chemical, electrical, etc). Those few that were looking for coders needed convincing that even though I’m an IST major I can still code. I have a feeling that didn’t go over too well, no one seemed to want to talk with me about much.

Erik and Ada

The rest of Thursday was spent hanging out with Ada and Erik. We watched some InuYasha at his place and then grabbed some sushi and Chinese for dinner before I had to run home for work the next day. We’ ve all changed (well, some more than others), but it felt just like old times. It was really nice to have the group together again.

I ended up leaving later than expected but still managed to survive the three and a half hour drive home without falling asleep and hitting a tree. Lack of tree hitting is a good thing.

Anyone know a company that needs a hardworking, code loving geek with four years work experience? If so please have them contact me. I need to start looking for a job for when I’m out of college and I can use all the help I can get with the current job market.
