I’ve been thinking of getting a VW GTI for my new car but now I’m having second thoughts. I think I may not have looked into my options well enough. With the time quickly approaching for a new car I need to start really looking at what is on the market.
Currently considering an Acura RSX as a better buy. Better milage, pollution rating, and a bit cheaper. Plus doesn’t have the VW stupidness that occurs when one removes the factory radio, which we all know I will do.
Any other suggestions in that price range? And no Isaac, no RX8!

Subaru IMPREZA 2.5 RS Sedan Sport Pkg....starts at $19,095. but the RSX is a good buy, and VW tends to burn out headlights often. don't ask how i know that

I'd go for the RX8 too. :-)

We've had all four 02 sensors on our VW (Passat) die in one week. Then the stupid windshield cleaning fluid tubes froze below 20 degrees. There were a couple of other parts they didn't bother recall, just gave free repairs to. Its like their workmanship went down the crapper in the past 4 years.
So, I can't recommend a VW.

Yeah, with the labor issues in Germany over the past few years I've heard the quality just isn't what it used to be.

A friend has an RSX and he loves it. Fun to drive. Me, I'd go for the ultimate geek car: a fully loaded Toyota Prius. It has a little fob you put in your bag that the car senses to unlock the door when you get near! And pressing a button to boot up your car is so much cooler than turning a key to crank the engine. And bluetooth, so something else can be incompatible with your phone.
