...I want this case. Yes, it is a computer case, one that took many hours to build. I don’t know where the drives are or anything like that, buts its just so cool. I’m happy with the case I just got though. I’ll have to upload a photo at some point. It still glows. Has a nice little temp monitor display on the front and has an alarm clock in it too. Overkill, but cool.
On another interesting note someone managed to take apart a mini iPod. That thing is pretty cool inside. I haven’t seen on in person but Arielle wants to get some so I may tinker with it when she gets one ;)

Thank God we have W looking out for the sanctity of marriage. Its a good idea for him to take away a state’s right and put a ban on gay marriage in the constitution. Note for the daft: that was pure sarcasm.
The argument of marriageďż˝s sanctity must be preserved is pointless. To most people today marriage is a joke - just look at the 60% divorce rate. Just turn on your TV during prime time and I’m sure you’ll see some knockoff of The Bachelor where marriage is nothing more than a gimmick. Somehow two people of the same sex wanting to get married after years of a healthy and loving relationship is worse than two people getting married simply for ratings and money? Humph.
I came so close, but not close enough. I got Debian up and running minus a few key things - mainly my printer, digital camera, and 500 gigs of HDDs. I could have worked around the printer and card reader for the cam, but I needed that 500 gigs. I was considering a Mac (for about 6 hours) since I love Poltergeist and I hate Windblows, but I had some sense beaten into me. So now I’m back in Windblows.
Not much has happened since I last posted. Lotta working, lotta fudging with linux, nothing too interesting. However there are some interesting things going on out there. For one the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo came out. Wow, I really like it. I feel its what UT2k3 shoulda been but wasn’t. The new vehicals are awesome too. I have a feeling I may spend a lot of time playing this game when its out. In other news the Ender’s Game Movie seems to be making progress. I really hope they do a good job. From the sounds of whose on board for the production it sounds like they will. We shall see.
I tell customers this all the time at work. "Backup your data" I always say. And yet even after I say it everyday I don’t do it myself - I’m a fucktard.
I wanted to take my 30 gig drive out of my computer seeing as it was only being used for a 5 gig install of Windows. So I figured I’d make a new partition on my 180 gig and move it there. I used Partition Magic to shrink the 180 partition to 150 and make a 30 in the beginning of the drive. Yeah, big mistake. PM completly fucked over the file system. Why the big deal? That was the drive with all my documents, various media (Photoshop files, etc), warez, and digital camera pics on it. Gone for good.
I messed around with it for a good 8 hours trying to recover the data with no luck. After giving up I just began to install Windows on the new 30 gig parition. Just to kick me in the nuts while I was already down in the fetal position, the Windows installer fucked over the file system on my other two drives where I kept all my anime and TV shows. All because the Windows installer uses one copy of the NTFS file system and likes running a chkdsk, which kills NTFS systems made under XP SP1. I managed to recover my movies and the Simpsons, but that was it
Sitting here with no data (partly my, partly Windows fault) I’m giving up on Windows. This weekend Arielle and I will be having an "Install Debian Linux" party. I’m ready to switch. I’m sure I’ll still use Wine here and there to run a few Windows apps, but overall its linux time.
Until then I have Poltergeist hooked up to my monitor and such - using it as a desktop replacement till the weekend. Its saving me from having to install Windows just to remove it in two days.

Well I guess you could call this weekend a mini vacation - or as close to a vacation as I get. Started on Thurs - Arielle and I went to see Big Fish. It was a lot better than it looked to be. I really enjoyed it. On Friday we went to the mall so I could get a hat and some glasses for Saturday. Managed to get cheap but decent ones.
Saturday I had to wake up early (ick) so I could be at the bus that was leaving for Jack Frost Ski Mountain at 7:30am. Her work was having a nice deal where it was bout $20 off from the regular price, plus we got food too. It wasn’t too crowded which was really nice. I managed to only fall once, and that wasn’t even while skiing downhill. It was coming out of the lounge trying to get to the lift. I felt like a dumbass. We stayed on intermediate the whole time which was good enough for me seeing as I didn’t want to die or anything while I was there.
I got lots of sleep that night which was greatly needed - about 11 hours. Had to wake up to go work at Circuit Shitty which killed Sunday, but hey what can you do?
Now its time to write a paper and study for a test - both of which are for tomorrow. This is not going to be a fun day.
A federal appeals court is poised to hear arguments in a landmark case that could decide the future of peer-to-peer services, and may affect whether technology companies can be held liable for their customers’ behavior.
You can read the full article here. If they find them liable than it would only be fair if I could sue car companies for the massive amount of reckless drivers out there.
