Fez

The Ataris

Well, after many last minute changes in plans, I ended up going to see the Y100 Feztival with Felicity. We managed not to get lost on the way to the Tweeter Center in NJ, which is always a good thing. We almost took a wrong turn, but some creative driving prevented that. I was shocked to find out that it was $20 for parking. I didn’t think it was that much, especially since we parked two blocks away. Anyway, we got there and ended up trying to burn an hour because the side stage was behind schedule due to the weather. It looked like it was going to rain the entire time, but it held out.

John Faye

Surprisingly the side stages (both the XBox Side Stage and the Local Stage) were very very good, sometimes better than the main stage. We tried to time it so that we would see all the bands we wanted to; Beck, The Ataris, Starting Line, Quick Step John, and Ike. I was thrilled to see Ike. It’s John Faye’s new band. I loved his stuff as The John Faye Power Trip, and this was just as good. I ended up buying their CD while I was there - only $10. Not a bad deal for a full CD these days. When we went over to see The Ataris, it was packed. We ended up having to try to get away from the stage because some dumbasses started to throw people around, and we almost got trampled. They had a good performance though, once we didn’t have to worry about our lives being in danger.

All and all it was a great concert. We left a little early because the last band wasn’t that great, and we didn’t want to get stuck in an hours worth of traffic. We got back at midnight and parted ways because I had to work at 9am the next morning.

Lack of Skillz

Yes, my posting skills are lacking, as even my mom has pointed out. You know you need to post when that happens.

I got my grades for the semester - all B’s and B+’s. Good enough for me. I figured I’m only really going to college to get the paper so that Human Resourses at whatever company I end up working at things I’m just that much more qualified for the job. I’m not really learning anything yet, so that’s the only reason I can see to stick it out. However next semester, my one class looks like it may be cool. The networking class I am taking in is Linux (Redhat though, beh!). I ended up talking to the teacher today and he said that the people he feels that know their shit will get locked in a room and have to set up a cluster of linux servers, instead of having us go over the boring "Ok, now this is how you ping." Thank god! That will be great seeing as the main reason I am in this class is so that I can go into the advanced networking class (where I think I will really learn something) in the spring.

I had an interview today for my IST internship I am applying for. I hope I got it. My resume basicly matched what they said the "ideal student" would be for the job, in terms of knowledge and experiance. I should find out within a week or so what is going on with that.

So, of course, where was I last Thursday (May 15th)? Where else, Matrix Reloaded! I thought it was pretty cool. The one rave scene was a bit out of place, but the rest of it was very well done. I think the plot twist was good too - they needed something like that to make sure that it wasn’t your typical boring sequal. I can’t wait for the last movie, and thank god I don’t have to wait 4 years this time around.

Basicly everything else is your typical summer thus far. Sleeping odd hours, late night coding and Wawa runs, you know - my usual. I still haven’t gotten around to recoding this site into PHP so I can finally fix the hit counter so it shows more than one unique hit a day. Maybe I’ll try to do that soon...

Boo-ya! Finally the semester is over!!! *yay* My stat final was actually quite painless (for me, the final on the other hand will never be the same). I know I messed up one number, but it was a small part of the problem so I will only lose a point or two out of 150. Beyond that I don’t think I messed anything up. Physics final was pretty good too - I left one part blank because I didn’t even read one of the chapters and therefore wasn’t even able to bullshit the problem. The rest of the test was cool though. Today I had my IST 240 (Intro to Object Oriented Programming) final. That final is now my bitch. It was bitchy having to write 3 pages of Java code by hand, well more time-consuming than bitch, but I got it done. Thank god all my finals are over with!

I’m moving back home on Sat morning. I already took a lot of my stuff home to save time later - everything but my computer and my clothes are home. I still have to take down all the water bottles off the roof, but I’ll leave that for the last minute. Now, it is time to relax *deep sigh*.

Steve, Brian, and I all went to see X2 (X-men 2 for those of you don’t watch any form of media) opening day at the 11pm showing. Geez, they did an amazing job this time around. I have to admit the first one wasn’t that great. I watched the cartoon show every Saturday as a kid, and that one just didn’t live up to the name. However, X2 is a whole other story. The opening scene really set the pace for the movie. It was great to see Nightcrawler, he was one of my favorites as a kid. And the fun didn’t stop there, the rest of the movie was filled with great action scenes, a good plot, and even well-placed humor. I also like how the ending left fans thinking one thing, and those who hadn’t watched/read X-men before wioth another. Yay Phoenix saga:wink:! My only real problem with the movie was that they didn’t work Gambit or Beast into it. They did show Gambit’s name at one point on a computer screen, so I assume he will be in X3 (I hope). All and all I have to say I was very happy with how the movie turned out, and I may even see it again. Too bad we have to wait so long for the next one .

On other notes, my last day of classes was Friday. I am very happy that this semester is over. I am of course going to miss college life, but I am in no way going to miss any of the classes I had this semester. I have two finals tomorrow, stat and physics. Neither of them should be that bad, however the stat final is cumulative, so that always leaves room for pain and suffering. After that I only have one final on Wednesday, IST 240 (object oriented design). After that its time to work 40 hours a week at Circuit City and then spend the rest of the time sleeping and coding. Yeah, this summer is going to be su much fun .
