Well, I had a great weekend on my first assignment with the NSSF. I had to go to MD to cover the Nike Indoor Championships and upload the results, etc. I ended up bringing Steve along for help, which worked out very well.
We got there Thurs night and checked in. We had a very cool room. I swear, the beds where the best I have ever been in. Friday we went and found out that we were going to have to rewrite the entire news system by the next day - unless we wanted to make a lot of work for ourselves. We chose to stay up and make it easy the next day. After 6 hours the entire site was rewritten and we got one hour of sleep.
The event itself was cool. I have never been to a track meet (seeing as I am a very unathletic person). It was cooler than I expected. With the news system it wasn’t too much work, so a lot of the time we got to sit back and watch the event. Sunday was the same thing as Saturday was. Overall it was fun. When all was said and done, we all went to Outback for a nice dinner. We were there for about 4 hours. It was cool to be able to order a 16ox steak and not worry about paying for it . I’m looking forward to the next event in June, as long as it’s the same it should be fun.
Spring break starts today. Woohoo - a break from classes. I must say, it has gone by very fast. I can’t believe that it has already been half a semester. Soon enough it will be summer time.
I’m staying up at Kutztown with Jess for the break. This way I can still work at Circuit City over break. I get to work 9 to freakign 7 Monday...fun. However, I will be makign a good amout of money - that is always a good thing. I go to the Nike Indoor Classic on Friday to be the "online reporter" for the event. It looks like it may be a cool thing. I mean, its work, but at least it isn’t like a 9-5 desk job. Maybe I’ll get some free shoes out of it.
It has been a fairly interesting week. My dad called me for the second time in my life. I must say, it is nice that he finally calling me. I’ve been waiting for this for a while. However, on a bad note - my mom has to get surgery on Wed. They found something in her breast, and it has a 50-50 chance of being cancer. Just peachy. As if my grandmother dying from it last year wasn’t enough I have this now. Although, it is in the early stages so it isn’t a major thing - but still, can’t help but to worry...
