Yes, that’s right, after being home for a month, I now have a mission or two for the summer. As those of you know who have been to my house, I build models, mainly of Star Trek ships (yes, I am a dork). Well, I have decided to rebuild a select few (the ones that look like shit, or the ones I really like), so improve upon my previous attempt. The second thing I would like to do is to rebuild my old train platform. At the old house we used to have a very large HO scale platform in the basement that my dad and I built over the years. While we were moving again I came across all the old trains, and I decided that as soon as I get the basement (and the money) I am going to try to rebuild it.
I have completed the first model in my list to be rebuilt. USS Voyager. This was the first model that I built in the Star Trek series. I must say, after not building for about 2 years, I think I did a fairly good job (on the non-professional level of course :-)). I don’t quite have the ability to do weathering on the hull yet, but I hope to try that out when I rebuild the USS Defiant. If anyone has any experiance with this, let me know please.
As for me, I am doing a lot of side jobs. I haven’t had any real luck finding a good technology job. Prob because everyone wants someone to work full time. However, I am getting a lot of side jobs, so things are working out ok for me. I have had the oddest sleep schedule...sleeping from 5am till 3pm. I dunno, I just can’t fall asleep early anymore. Its a good thing I don’t have a 9-5 job :-). I have been fortunate enough that I can visit Jessica a lot. She is helping make this summer be not-so-bad. It is annoying that she is an hour and 20 min away, but it is well worth the trip :-).
On other notes, my dad has returned. He has been gone for about a month now. He apparently was having back issues. He went to get it checked out and they said "we don’t want to opperate, cause we could destroy your spine...so come back to us when you can’t walk." I feel really bad for him, he can’t move that well now, and he lost a little bit of feeling in his right leg. After that he went back to Jamaca for a week (he had a free plane ticket) and visitied some of the people he met down there last time he went.
My sister just got her house delivered, so they are supposed to be moving the second week of June. It is going to be weird to have it onlu me and my mom in the house. We’ve gone from 4 people in the house to 2 in only 3 years. Jess is of course leaving the dog here because he is too much trouble. This is of course after he was a $400 b-day gift.
I think that basicly covers everything for now. I am going to bug CID to get more game reviews up, so stay tuned!
