The End Is Near

Written at 10PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2002

I can’t believe it, my freshman year is going to be over in one week. Time went by so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was carying my 53 pound monitor up 4 flights of stairs. I am lucky, it appears that I may one have to take two finals. One in Econ (ick), and one in Web design. You can guess how much I will be studying for the last one, heehee. I must say, I am going to miss the college life. I don’t know what I am going to do with myself over summer, minus work, try to get lots of clients for New Pixel Media, and of course playing Chrono Cross. Anyone out there need a site or hosting?

By the way, anyone who wants to get together with me (and there better be a lot of you :-P), don’t go to my old house! I have moved to D-town. If you need to get a hold of my, just IM me.

.Net

Written at 7PM on Saturday, April 13, 2002

I got the chance to go to a conferance on Microsoft.Net in Baltimore on Thursday. I must say, I am very impressed. Not only is there a hell of a lot of new features, but the caching is an awesome feature. With is, you can handel about 130 Requests Per Second....very impressive. The one depressing this is that a lot of the code I have developed for form validation, file uploading, and user management through NT password is now replaced by drag and drop. It is kinda depressing to realize how much time I wasted.

I got my hands on Visual Studio.Net. That is my new toy for the summer. I intend to convert most of my ASP sites that I host into ASP.Net sites, using C# of course (just so it can yell at me that I need a semi-colon). I want to try to learn it now so that by the time .Net Server (XP Server) is out, I will already be using .Net and will be ahead of many developers.

On family news, my sister is pregnant. Yes, the one that stole my car. The baby is due in September. The one good thing is that the guy is staying with her. Its nice to see that there is at least one guy left who can take responsibility for his actions. They are going to get an appartment back in West Chester, so I will be getting her room (one of the biggest in the house). You all know what that means, LAN Parties!

That is it, for now. Goodbye.
